As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming for elementary aged children according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) Residential Counselors work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.

You will must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.
Engage and form positive relationship with all youth served.
Complete all mandatory trainings according to programmatic guidelines.
Display basic competency in TCI techniques.
Follow outlined program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
Work as part of a team including colleague residential counselors, clinicians, on line oncall, supervisors, and other administrative and functional support staff.
Maintain respectful and appropriate communication with internal and external customers,including county workers, medical staff, parents etc.
Complete and maintain documentation to meet programmatic and regulatory standards.
Transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.

All of the above plus the following:
You will facilitate groups/coached visitation, understanding and applying curriculum and appropriate practice models, i.e. DBT, SAY, etc.
Take on specific leadership responsibilities for dorm/cottage, including coordinating activities, participating in program-wide committee.
Must have the ability, skill, and knowledge to take a lead role in a team.
Form positive relationships with more challenging youth and families.

Pay Status and Classification: Non-Exempt, Regular full-time (40 hours per week)
Supervisor: Associate Director for Housing Operations
Position Purpose: Utilizing a team approach, exercising sound judgment, and exemplifying a positive attitude, the Operations Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Residential Education (ResEd)& Housing Office, including Greek Leadership and Minerva Programs. Serves as the main receptionist and interacts with students, student staff, parents, and other campus constituencies daily. Identifies and articulates student needs and collaborates with appropriate residential staff to provide an effective institutional response. Keeps sensitive information private and confidential. Supports the Associate Director of Housing Operations with all operational tasks associated with the office. Carries out the mission of Union College and the Division of Student Affairs.
This position works on site and primarily in person. Additionally, this position may involve occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administration: Maintains a neat and orderly office environment, befitting a space used as a student resource center. Publishes and maintains an accurate directory of all ResEd staff. Coordinates and/or initiates calendar scheduling as requested; makes sure meeting attendees know the location or zoom link. Supports and implements logistics for ResEd programs and events (ex. catering, space reservations, set-up/tear down). Supports administrative processes such as move-in/out, residence transition periods, life & safety inspections, and roster verifications. Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables. Provides administrative assistance (ex. calendar management, event support) to the directors, assistant vice president, and other students affairs administrators when needed or requested.
- Customer Service: Manages day-to-day operations (ex. answering phones, managing centralized emails, scheduling, monitoring work study students) for ResEd & Housing and other offices as needed. Opens and closes the office space in line with established hours. Provides initial consultation to student walk-ins and refers as appropriate. Responds quickly to any parent emails and calls as appropriate. Updates voice/email boxes to reflect hours, any special closings, announcements. Models and encourages an inclusive culture of customer service that respects individuals of any background or identity.
- Student Staff Supervision: Works with a designated supervisor to select, train, and supervise work 3 -15 part time student employees. Accounts for and approves student hours in designated online systems. Creates an office hour schedule and ensures student coverage.
- Project Management: Maintains a secure and accurate key system (ex. auditing, logging, ordering replacements). Connects with facilities and key shop contacts on key related items. Manages campus-wide laundry program, including audits and maintenance reports for entire residential areas. Serves as the primary point of contact for the laundry company and maintenance workers. Creates updates to existing laundry programs to ensure overall student satisfaction and reliability.
- Purchasing Support:Oversees processing payments and reconciliations. Tracks spending trends and recommendations as needed to support the budgetary health of the overall program. Supports purchasing through best practices and preferred vendors. Ensures appropriate inventory of supplies and makes orders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or two to four years of administrative experience, preferably in an educational or related environment, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to work onsite in an office setting including ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
- Extensive computer skills, such as working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google docs).

Compensation
The rate for this position is $24.00 - $26.25 per hour. As a Clinician, you will provide comprehensive clinical, case planning and family support services to county residents. We are dedicated to helping parents, caregivers and children succeed by drawing on their natural strengths while addressing the risks that impact safety, permanency and well-being. As a Clinical site Supervisor in the Crisis Residence program, you will oversee day-to-day supervision and oversight of all staff to ensure management of the crisis line and onsite response is efficiently coordinated. You will report to the Director of Crisis Services and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day as well as regular individual supervision and oversight to clinicians
- Interview, hire, and coordinate the onboarding of new staff with the Director
- Oversee the training of clinicians and collaborate with the Assistant Director in training for residential staff
- Run clinical team meetings with the Assistant Director and Residential staff
- Monitor chart maintenance, billing, referrals needing clinical review, and response to client's needs
- Assist with Intake/Admissions/Clinical Groups and treatment planning as coverage needs
- Participate in debriefs for critical incidents and review information to determine opportunities for staff development
- Collaborate with the Director on creating team-building opportunities and develop staff to provide cohesive direct care in a team atmosphere
- Maintain knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures
- Participate in advanced training
- Monitor all Documentation of staff as oversite to ensure quality documentation
- Enhance collaborative teamwork between all staff
- Rotate on-call for Crisis Residences; some office evening hours

As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.

About EMPAC | Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center “The concert hall of the 21st century has arrived. But in addition, the huge building, laid out on a hillside, houses a 400-seat theater with comparable versatility; two black-box studios, one geared more toward sound, the other toward sight; and space for rehearsals and other uses. And for their electronic and data needs, all these components have access to one of the world’s biggest supercomputers.” The New York Times (10/08/2008) At the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Institute), the arts, sciences, and technology meet under one roof in four exceptional venues. This incredible 220,000 square foot building, designed by London-based Grimshaw Architects, opened in 2008 and is an unmatched model of acoustics, infrastructure, and architectural engineering with state-of-the-art performing arts infrastructure and architectural engineering. EMPAC’s concert hall features 1,165 seats with the ability to sculpt the acoustical soundscape for musical performances and equipment for screens, projections, and staging elements. The Goodman Studio/Theater and Studio 2 are versatile spaces that can be used to create immersive experiences utilizing both projection and sound technology. Job Summary | The Executive Director of EMPAC will guide and deliver on its mission and vision as a global center at the intersection of the arts, science, and technology. They will be accountable for a strategic direction, business model, and adaptive change that are in alignment with the Institute’s Rensselaer Forward plan, including the goal to create the most welcoming and inclusive community possible for faculty, staff, students, and the external community EMPAC serves. The Executive Director will maintain a presence both on and off campus by actively participating in the community and establishing international visibility at relevant conferences and other events that increase exposure and access to artists that could curate, produce, or be presented by EMPAC. These activities are focused on preserving an integrated interdisciplinary pedagogical approach to research, programs, and campus events that inspire active participation by faculty and students in and attendance at EMPAC. The Executive Director will partner with each of the School Deans and Institute Administration to coordinate student learning outcomes, activating EMPAC as a hub for student learning on campus. They will oversee, inspire, and collaborate with a dedicated staff while investing in them and securing the resources that ensure EMPAC remains at the forefront of technological advancements. In collaboration with Institute Advancement and the President, the Executive Director will establish and maintain a portfolio of donor relationships that support the capital and operating needs of EMPAC, including its facilities, programs, and research. Qualifications | Qualifications The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree, or equivalent experience, and 8-10 years of senior management expertise in commissioning, promoting, programming, producing, and/or presenting contemporary music, theater, dance, multi-media, or other experimental creative industry initiatives. A comprehensive understanding of associated production, capacity utilization (both venue and staff), audience development, and venue management is important. Although experience in an academic environment is helpful, those with demonstrable results in nonprofit or corporate structures are welcome to pursue this unique opportunity. Exceptional relationship management, donor cultivation, and creative industries expertise with leading producers and artists at the national and international level is preferred. Description
As an Online/Oncall, you will ensure the security of campus and community residential locations, including working with staff, maintaining communication with resident’s family and guardians, and overseeing resident transportation needs. You will report to the Online/Oncall supervisor and you will work on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure implementation of all applicable emergency systems, agency policies, and program procedures.
- Respond to crises within assigned Residential Program/locations. Ensure response follows agency policy and protocol appropriate to the situation, and ensure that the individual clients behavior management plan(s) are followed. Ensure any physical intervention is conducted following TCI standards. Ensure completion of all forms and appropriate documentation of every restraint.
- Provide support to teams when asked for behavioral interventions and events. Will direct the team in absence of residential supervisor and will be a source of training , supporting and modeling for other staff.
- Ensure the security of campus and community locations, responding to any security concerns. Conduct random checks of assigned locations to ensure safety of residents.
- Be the primary person in charge of calling the police for any resident considered missing, completing or ensuring completion of the Missing Person Report form and canceling Missing Person Reports upon a residents return.
- Ensure contacts have been made with the residents family and guardian for all significant incidents.
- Maintain regular entries in the Online/On call log regarding all significant events that occur, and provide the leadership with specific additional information as. Ensure completion of documentation for all significant incidents.
- Ensure significant incidents are called into the Justice Center as applicable.
- Serve as the central person in charge of off campus trips. Approve and log all off-campus trips and assure such trips have proper staff coverage.
- Oversee and transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
- Check and assure that all visitors have prior approval to be on the grounds.
- Be available to hear and document any neighbor concerns.
